Rod Thomas is the creator and author of the Silly Animal Limericks™ children's picture-book series, featuring whimsical and madcap animal limericks brought to life through delightfully zany, colorful, full-spread illustrations.
The idea for Silly Animal Limericks™ began more than 25 years ago, when Rod started writing limericks to while away the long hours between takeoff and landing during business trips. Those early pages of scribbled verses eventually grew into a folder stuffed with limericks, character ideas and story notes, then expanded into a twelve-book series filled with memorable animals, playful wordplay, hidden surprises and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
After a 40-year career in information technology, Rod founded Purple Plaid Chameleon Publishing LLC to create imaginative books and story worlds for children and families. Silly Animal Limericks™ is the first of several original book series now in development.
Born in the United Kingdom and raised primarily in the United States, Rod now lives in Portugal with his wife, Elena, and their two rescue dogs, Lukas and Cooper.
He hopes the Silly Animal Limericks™ books will inspire smiles, laughter and lively read-aloud moments during story time, school time, family time, bedtime or any time.

I hope Silly Animal Limericks™ gives families, classrooms, libraries, and young readers a reason to laugh, rhyme, and read aloud together. I also hope the books reward careful looking, because the silliest little details are sometimes the ones hiding in plain sight.
