Brian Martin
Brian Martin is a professional writer and illustrator from Richmond, Virginia.
With a passion for illustrating children’s picture books, Brian has been fortunate enough to work with a number of publishing houses and self-published authors.
As the illustrator of the Silly Animal Limericks™ series, Brian brings Rod's whimsical and madcap animal characters to life through delightfully zany, colorful, full-spread illustrations. His expressive characters, playful visual details and wonderfully ridiculous scenes add another layer of storytelling to every limerick, giving young readers plenty to discover with each return visit.
Brian describes himself as a fun and creative guy who loves bringing stories to life through his illustrations. That spirit can be seen throughout the Silly Animal Limericks™ series, from its larger-than-life animal personalities to the tiny surprises hidden within the artwork.

A Note from the Author
Brian’s illustrations are such an important part of the Silly Animal Limericks™ universe, and I am so thankful that he and I are building it together!
I am always excited to see the first sketches from Brian after I send him the limerick text for a new book. And then I am even more excited when the full-color illustrations arrive and I get to watch him breathe that final breath of life into my silly stories.
The books simply would not work the same way without his artwork alongside my limerick rhymes. Brian has a wonderful ability to add subtle humor, comic timing, expressive character moments, and little visual surprises that give each page more depth, personality and laugh-out-loud appeal. His artwork gives every animal a personality and every page a little extra nonsense.
He is friendly, professional, creative and genuinely funny, which makes him an absolute joy to work with! I am grateful for everything he brings to the series, and I hope we have the chance to continue to collaborate on future projects after the Silly Animal Limericks™ picture book series is complete.
